Hotel Management
Room Power:
Room key tag must be placed in the key slot beside the entrance door when you are in the room to provide power. Please note air conditioning will automatically turn off when balcony door is open and needs to be restarted when door is closed.
Appliance Adaptor:
Please visit reception to hire. Upon return of the adaptor hire fee returned. Australian electricity 240v.
Room Cleaning:
Express Room Replenishment ( daily except Sunday)
Housekeeping will visit your room, Toiletries, tea & coffee replenished. Towels replaced only if left on bathroom floor. Rubbish removed, only if remaining on the room floor next to the provided rubbish bin. If not required place DO NOT Disturb sign on the exterior of your room door.
Please note: to protect our environment, only towels that are placed on the bathroom floor get replaced.
Full Room Service including linen change is provided every 7th day of your stay. If you do not want the express room service, please place DO NOT DISTURB sign on the room exterior corridor room handle and also dial 9 from your room phone to notify reception or visit reception ( open 24hrs).
Room Air-Conditioning:
Split System Air Conditioner – Prior to your arrival housekeeping would have set to Cool 25c. This is the best working temperature for unit efficiency and room comfort. Use the remote control to turn on, provided that key tag must be in the room power slot and balcony sliding glass door closed.

Late Departures:
Courtesy shower & bathroom facilities and luggage storage are provided free of charge. Please do not leave any valuables including passports, laptops or cameras in luggage storage. The owner of the luggage /baggage or personal property are fully responsible for all loss or damage from any cause whatsoever whilst the property is in storage. Cairns Queenslander Hotel & Apts accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any such loss or damage.
Guest Behaviour:
The Cairns Queenslander Hotel reserves the right to judge acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of the Guest or invitees of the Guest who must take all steps necessary for corrective action as requested by the Hotel. In the event of failure to comply with management’s request, the Hotel may terminate a reservation immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation. Zero tolerance to any hotel employee abuse or hotel damage – if this occurs you will be reported immediately to the Police. Cairns Queenslander Hotel & Apartments is an active member of POLICE CRIME WATCH.
Damages & Extra Room Cleaning:
Guests will be responsible for any damage caused to the Hotel room or any furnishings, fittings and equipment therein by any act or omission of the Guest or his/her invitees. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, The Cairns Queenslander Hotel reserves the right to make a charge to the Guest’s credit or debit card. Upon check-in: The hotel reserves the right to request a holding bond of $150 . The room will be checked upon guest departure, the bond amount of $150 would only be retained if extra room cleaning is required or damage has occurred.
Noise Control:
For courtesy of other guests, please lower your voice when walking through the corridors. No parties or gathering in the hotel rooms or apartments, hotel policy zero – tolerance to excessive noise.
Pets:
No pets allowed in hotel rooms or apartment suites at any time. This includes leaving your pets in vehicles within the hotel car park.
We Welcome Companion / Support / Assistance / Therapy Animals – Important Please Read:
Prior to making your reservation we will require evidence which we will check and keep on file, this will be supporting documentation such as valid animal assistance registration number which will verify that the animal has passed an authorised public access test.
Smoking Cigarettes or Cigars / Vaping / Marijuana
Smoking , Vaping , marijuana use is strictly prohibited within all guest rooms and public areas. Smoking or Vaping within the property guest rooms, public areas will activate the property fire alarm system which will incur an automated fire dept call out fee of $1,450.00 payable. This amount will be passed on to be paid by the person/s who activated the false fire alarm. Beware covering the fire alarm will also cause activation!
Smoking of marijuana is NOT permitted on the property there are no personal exemptions to this rule.
Our designated smoking area is located in the driveway area outside reception.

Security: For your security, please ensure your room doors and windows are locked, particularly your balcony door, when you go out or intend sleeping. Safety deposit boxes are available at reception for your convenience free of charge.
Safety Boxes: These are available at reception up on request, free of charge. Reception open 24 hours.
Fire Safety: Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rooms. In the event of fire, an alarm will sound. Use stairways only, do NOT use lift! Please evacuate calmly to the closest assembly point as specified on the Evacuation diagram at back of your hotel room door. Queensland Fire Services attend all fire alarm activation calls, in case of a false fire alarm causing QLD Fire Service to attend, a charge of $1430 will be applied onto the guests responsible. Please also be aware that smoke detectors can be activated by but are not limited to; tampering or removing smoke detectors, cooking, incense candles, smoking and excess steam from bathroom.
To minimize the risk of a false alarm:
If you choose to smoke on the balcony, you must close the balcony glass door.
If you are showering or are using aerosol sprays, please close the bathroom door and allow the steam or fumes to dissipate before opening the door.
The Cairns Queenslander Hotel reserves the right to take action against any Guest found to have tampered / interfered with any fire detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detectors in public areas and bedrooms and fire extinguishers. Guests found to have tampered with any fire detection or firefighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the Hotel due to their actions and additionally may be asked to leave the Hotel. Should the fact that firefighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guests has departed The Cairns Queenslander Hotel reserves the right to make a charge to the Guest’s credit or debit card.
Electrical:
Australian power is 240 volts. Appliance adapters are available at Reception upon a deposit paid (fully refundable upon return of the adaptor).

Washing and Drying Machines are located on the 3rd floor of the East wing and each floor level of the West wing, and operate between 9am – 9pm daily.
Both washing machine and dryer take 5 x $1 coins. Visit reception for change or to buy washing powder.

For your convenience these facilities are available at Reception. Cost applicable

Item/s left behind within allocated room after check-out/departure:
Any lost property found within the guests room will be held for 3 months after the guests departure date. Any food or drink items left in the room (including within the room refrigerator/freezer) will be discarded immediately by housekeeping staff as per QLD Health regulations.
BBQ:
Our BBQ (electric operation) is located property West Wing, Digger Street pool area. Opening hours from 9am – 9pm. Please see Reception for bookings, use conditions apply.
Car park:
We have two car parks for our guests to use only, Lake Street & Digger Street. Access details are given by our front desk upon check-in.

Swimming Pools:
Two swimming pools, one on the Lake street side of the building visible from Reception/Restaurant and the other swimming pool Digger Street side of the building where the hotel BBQ is also located. Please enjoy these facilities at your leisure. Pool hours are 8am – 7pm daily.
